~~Early Wool Hand Carder & Huge Wool Roving Ball~~
Hand-carding is a traditional method of preparing fleece and fibers for spinning. The purpose of carding wool is to straighten and separate wool fibers making them easier to spin into yarn. Hand carders are wooden paddles with coarse or fine wire teeth.
There is (as shown) some markings on the carder, though it is illegible to me.
Perfect to display in an early wooden bowl or perhaps an early splint basket!
Circa 19th c. Fresh to the market!
