~~Early New England Paint Decorated Childs Sled - Perfect For The Holidays!!!~~
The name L.P.Laffy can be found on the top / seat in drab gold letters with black shading.
It is 28 inches in length, 9 1/2 inches in width and 4 1/2 inches in height. Somewhat small.
The original iron sliders remain on the runners. Old screws and iron brackets were used in the construction.
Narrow separation on the seat and expected overall paint wear. Charming form!
Painted sleds are always featured in country magazines as an important decoration so this would undoubtedly be perfect for the holidays!!
Circa: 1870-1880 or earlier. New England origin / private collection.
