~~Early Square Nailed Carrier - BEST Old Dry Oxblood Red Paint Over Mustard Paint - Berks County PA.~
The paint is perfectly worn and as 'right' as rain! This red paint has my absolute favorite look...the way I love to see it. By that I mean, the mustard showing through the worn red...a GREAT and desirable look!
The manner in which it is divided is so neat!! The divider, with the cut out handle is arched and the handle opening is nicely worn. It's got a really unique look, especially considering the nicely worn paint.
It measures 11 1/2 inches wide x 16 1/2 inches long. The sides measure 5 inches tall, not including the handle.
It remains untouched. I have not attempted to clean or alter the surface in any way...but it's so fabulous, why would I?
It is in excellent primitive condition with an appropriately aged surface. There are a couple of rounder nails that were added later, but even they are well aged.
Circa mid 1800's. Berks County Pennsylvania origin.
