~~Unusually Long Early Hand Forged Iron Tommy Stick - Pennsylvania~~

I am offering for your consideration an exceptional Civil War period hand forged iron lighting device, more commonly known as a tommy stick.

This piece measures an unusual 12 inches in length. They are more often than not much shorter.

It is in excellent condition & very well made with an appropriately aged surface.

This piece displays quite nicely on the back of a chair or as shown on an early wagon seat. As an alternative method of display, the pointed end may have been pounded into the chinking or a wooden slat.

Circa mid 1800's. Berks County Pennsylvania origin.
