~~Early Primitive Peg Rail - Old Green Paint - Bucks County Pa.~~

I am offering for your consideration an outstanding early antique primitive peg rail rack.

The best old dry green paint is present and the form is simply perfect for a more primitive look. I personally love it!

With its old painted surface and 5 well spaced original pegs, it is a real find. It was undoubtedly hand made / hewn and was created to fit a particular space, since one side is angled. This causes no cause for regret since the outer face is present. Situations like this allow the true collector to know that it is 100% authentic, as most early primitives were in fact made for a specific reason to go in a specific area.

Holes are present where it had been hung, however they were intermittently placed. I love to find early primitives like this...unrefined, but honest. In fact, an early square nail or two remains.

It is 43 inches in length and 2 inches in width. The hewn pegs are approximately 2 3/4 inches long.

Circa early - mid 1800's. Bucks County Pennsylvania origin.
